About ArK

There are many consumer facing fintech products, but finance as a whole is virtually untouched by technology. Investment decisions are still being made off of pdf’s and “shark tank”-like processes rather than utilizing the forecasting methods found at companies like Spotify or Google. This makes capital allocation riddled with bias and very ripe for disruption. At ArK we’re convinced that by putting data and tech at the heart of finance we can impact how money flows and, in turn, create a more democratized and unbiased economy.

Today we offer founders access to our machine learning platform AIM. Through connecting their raw data we can fully understand what they’ve built without any bias; connecting what has been achieved historically into a simulated 5-year future. This prediction is the foundation for the transformational loans that we are able to issue, and a tool that founders get to keep for business optimization.

ArK was founded in 2021 by a six-time entrepreneur, a world-class AI technology developer and a veteran banker. Since then we’ve carefully grown our team to 54 - all pitching in with their experience to build something that none of us has seen before.

ArK is headquartered in Stockholm with offices opening in Berlin and London in 2023, and soon expanding to all relevant tech epicenters in the world.

Communications Lead

As the Communications Lead, you will be responsible for the creation, execution and management of our external communications and content strategy for Germany.

You will lead the conceptual work and the content creation across multiple channels to elevate ArKs visibility in the venture ecosystem and drive added value for our Portfolio Companies, Network and Partners.

Role mission

There is a seismic shift taking place in the tech arena. The rules for funding and growing a tech company have been completely overhauled as access to capital has dried up and every single tech leader on the planet is shifting their mindset towards profitability and survival. Venture capital has up until this point been more or less the privileged mainstream option for building tech businesses, but with their withdrawal comes a big vacant space that we are ready to inhabit. Ark offers something that hasn’t been available to young and not-yet profitable tech companies - big, long term loans without giving up any ownership in the company. Our offering today consists of a groundbreaking growth loan - up to €10m, three years interest only and 7 years until full repayment. This product is both unique on a global arena as well as in the German tech ecosystem and will allow founders to grow their companies in a completely new way.

With that said, a lot of education is needed.

The tech press ecosystem is highly fixated with venture capital and considers loans less newsworthy and thrilling. Founders are not used to the possibility of growing with loans either. For us to succeed we need to educate both the ecosystem and press, and position ourselves as the next chapter in tech funding.

Areas of responsibility: 

Communications, PR and Content

• In close collaboration with the global Head of PR you will be responsible for building the ArK brand in the tech and business news ecosystem.

• Ideate and develop content for relevant channels that makes ArK central to the tech and funding discussion.

Network  community management and events

• From idea to execution you are responsible to build the ArK brand in the German tech ecosystem through events and offline activation

• Setting up in-person and digital learning and networking events for founders and relevant stakeholders

Profile

• At least 5 years working with PR and communications relating to tech or financing

• Big plus if you have experience within a startup environment, accelerator, VC or innovation hub. Or that you are fascinated by founders, startups and tech

• Entrepreneurial drive and desire to help grow a business with a flat hierarchy

• Ability to foster community both online and offline and can show examples of past work

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in German and English

• Proficient with tools for developing marketing content, managing social media channels, event production, and project management

• Strategic, organized, and able to execute
